I had hot pot three times this last week and Zhangliang has the best food. The bone broth and various ingredients you get to choose are all amazing. I was very impressed.

I've dined at ZhangLiang Malatang several times now, so this review is long overdue. The experience starts with selecting your own ingredients from a wide variety of fresh options. I especially appreciate the different types of mushrooms, vegetables, and pork blood (a personal favorite!). Once you're done, everything is weighed and sent back to the kitchen to be cooked. I love this concept because it gives you complete control over your meal—whether you're loading up on proteins, piling on veggies, etc. Be warned, though—it’s very easy to go overboard and end up with a more expensive bowl than you anticipated. The bone broth is incredibly comforting and flavorful, and they don’t skimp on portions. There’s also a self-serve sauce bar stocked with classic Chinese hot pot condiments, perfect for personalizing your bowl even further. Overall, it’s a customizable, satisfying dining experience that keeps me coming back!

A build your own hot pot spot that's great to satisfy your warm and soupy cravings. It's fully customizable so grab a bowl, toss whatever you want in it, and they'll weigh and cook it for you There's a few different broths to choose from and the two that i tried were both great. im sure you can't go wrong with any of them. The inside vibes were really casual and like diner vibes so nothing fancy at all. It was pretty empty so that's good if you don't wanna wait but could feel a little off if you're like the only people there lol. I'd come back again if im just feeling like a more casual experience. Just make sure your eyes aren't more hungry than your stomach otherwise you'll end up putting like 3 pounds of meat in your bowl on accident LOL Food: 8/10 Service: 5/10 Atmosphere: 5/10 Value: 6/10

It was my first time trying malatang, so I didn't know and put too much stuff in my pot/bowl (whatever you called it), which costs ~$36, and I can barely finish like 70% of it! The flavor is not bad, and of course, it was super cheap, considering the amount of food that was in my bowl. They have lots of unique fish cakes that you can try if you are a fish cake fan plus tons of different things so be careful and don't put too much stuff in your bowl like me because as you first time trying it you won't know how much you can eat and the fact that you can only do it once (you can't go back and add more food into your bowl after you check out) will make you unsure whether it's enough. Anyway, I would recommend this place if you haven't tried malatang before

food was good but not super money worth for vegetarians since you pay by weight before cooked, so relatively cheap vegetable weight is the same value as its weight in meat. Like a mountain of spinach that cooks down to nothing becomes pretty expensive as a result. Nonetheless, you’re able to get a ton of food at once for a decent value if you’re not vegetarian or if you choose wisely. i’ve also heard that yintang is better in flavor and selection the brown sugar sticky rice thing is yummy unlike some other reviewers, i found it to be very clean inside

The vegetable storage was clean and organized. Easy to find vegetables and other ingredients easily. Grab a bowl and tongs when you walk in from the sanitizing machine. There is also a nice sauce bar with a good variety. Once you fill up your bowl the staff at the register weighs your bowl. I did notice that the scale was tared to the weight of the bowl. And then they give you a beeper and you go back up and pick up when it’s ready. Everything inside was nice and clean. It was pretty good malatang! Got the classic bone soup, thinking I’ll try the Tom Yum next time.
